Emergency shelter for sober adults in greater Bangor. 38+ beds, free daily lunch at noon, food pantry, day program, and connections to housing and employment resources.
Who can use this?
Sober adults age 18 and older. Guests must be clean and sober from drugs, medical marijuana, and alcohol for at least 24 hours. The shelter cannot accept minors. Beds are first-come, first-served and cannot be reserved by phone.
About this resource
The Bangor Area Homeless Shelter provides emergency housing, meals, and support services to adults experiencing homelessness. In addition to its shelter beds, it operates a daily soup kitchen, food pantry, and a diversion program that works to prevent homelessness before it starts.

What to expect
Call (207) 947-0092 to complete an intake with staff. Beds are first-come, first-served. During the day, the day room is open 8 AM - 4 PM where you can get warm, use the phone, access clothing, and meet with partnering organizations. Free lunch is served daily at noon.
